It's your World. Create it. Explore it. Define it!

In today's generation we as individuals cannot help but battle with the constant idea of who we are as people and who we are suppose to be as people. We fail to realize that we are our own person with ideas, beliefs and passions. We live in a constant comparison to others through a nonstop social media dictation. - And yes, "dictation",  I am a firm believer in that our hand held smart phones and social media apps serve as dictators of our life and appreciation for our own day to  day encounters.  It becomes all about who went to the party with who, who is on this extravagant vacation to Bermuda on a yacht, or posts like look how much fun I'm having hanging out with my friends!
But guess what? who really gives a shit, right?  Well actually we do. Unconsciously we begin to compare the things others are doing to our own, and when we are doing something great we want everyone to see it and know about it. Validation and celebration is a good thing,  but let me question this. Who would you be if no one was watching?
Would you do things less perfectly or kind? Maybe would you explore new interests that you are embarrassed of because other people think they are dumb or ridiculous? Why can we not do things for ourselves?  To achieve our greatest goals for "me" rather than someone else to be proud of, or to show a societal view that you fit in to what's considered "right" or "successful". But who is to say who you can, and cannot be? Whats "right" and the best way to go about things? No one can say you're wrong in a way you choose, and that your desires are not valid. We shall not allow these judgements or doubts damper on the potential we all have to make a mark on this world. Do what you love, and do it passionately. -For you and your own happiness.  Live in this world as if it were a dream and appreciate every moment of it that you come across. My current and in Process Serigraph Print make Edition, It's your World. Create it. Explore it. Define it. This piece is composed of a photograph I took of the ocean in florida on a spring break vacation.  Digitally manipulated into a circular design, the ocean photograph now reads in depth and movement. With an addition of hand drawn imagery,  the elements now overlay into one unique composition. My efforts with this piece is to help us understand that we are all one of a kind people, and to give this one shot at life we have with infinite love, compassion and determination.

New wall display for Sale! Season Changes, 41/2ft width, 3ft height, hand sewn gold threaded flowers & natural authentic tree branch

What's your favorite season? As we know spring is on the way, and what's not a better way to begin your spring cleaning by freshening up your environment? Your bedroom may need a little color treatment  after this long and dull winter! Freshen up your space and welcome in the sunshine through the windows with this Hand Crafted and Sewn wall mural. With gold  threaded bright and colorful flowers, and intricate lace fabric pieces. Representing the season changes, the mural falls from winter, leading to spring into summer and fall on a natural tree branch. This can be a great center display to give a bare wall some life and  character. The piece also allows for an attention to depth with an unique play on light and shadow. My piece is an effort to bring fine art into the home, but also serve as a beautiful piece reminding you to engage in the moment and appreciate the special changes our natural world  experiences.

Post here or on my request form page if you are interested in purchasing this piece. Enjoy the nature changes arising and smile for the sunshine! - D

Soul of a lion, 16x24 canvas, Acrylic paint

This is a current painting I painted for my brother to give as a gift for his 18th birthday! 18 is a big year, and I wanted this painting to inspire him to be the strong, powerful, and bright leader that he is. College is around the corner for him, and that first step out on your own can be a big change to get use to. This painting is for him to carry along through the journey of life he has ahead- to remind him of the love others have for him, and his inner lion soul. The world has no idea yet what this strong, kind, and courageous young man has to offer! Love you Dilly, never stop shining.
Happy Bday with all my love,
Sissy
